FAQ
Questions, answered plainly.
If your question is not here, email support@anodizelabs.com and it probably ends up on this page afterwards.
The products
What format are the guides?
PDF. One file per guide, designed for A4 and for reading on a screen. The engineering guide is 104 pages across 12 chapters; the ecommerce guide is 101 pages across 12 chapters. There is no video, no software, and no members' area.
Which one should I buy?
If you write software for a living, the engineering guide. If you run a store, the ecommerce guide. They share a method and a design language but almost no content. If you do both, the bundle is $149.
Can I read part of it before buying?
Yes. A complete chapter is published free with no email gate. It is about nine pages of the printed book, and it is a real chapter, not a summary.
Is the content just the official documentation rewritten?
No. Where a primary source says something well it is quoted, attributed and visually set apart. The value is in the ordering, the failure modes, the artifacts you can copy, and the places where documented behaviour and observed behaviour diverge.
Will it go out of date?
Parts of it. Tools ship new flags every few weeks. The books are organised around mechanics that hold across versions, and version-sensitive details live in margin notes so they are easy to find and correct. Updates within your edition are free.
Buying and delivery
Is this a subscription?
No. Every price on this site is a one-time payment. There is no recurring charge, no trial that converts into a plan, and no additional product presented after checkout.
How is payment handled?
By Stripe. You pay on a Stripe-hosted checkout page. We never see or store your card details. Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link are available where your device supports them.
Is tax included?
Prices are shown before tax. Any sales tax or VAT that applies to your location is calculated at checkout and shown before you confirm payment.
How quickly do I get the file?
Immediately. Stripe returns you to a page with a download link, and the same link is emailed to you. In the rare case the email is slower than the redirect, the page tells you so and keeps checking.
How do download links work?
Each link is tied to your order, expires after a set period, and allows a limited number of downloads. Both numbers are displayed with the link on your download page. Save the PDF somewhere permanent as soon as you get it.
My link expired. Now what?
Email support@anodizelabs.com with the order reference from your Stripe receipt. We reissue links at no cost, for as long as the product exists.
Nothing arrived by email.
Check spam first. If it is genuinely missing, email us; every order is recorded at the moment of payment, so nothing is ever lost, even if delivery fails.
Can I get an invoice for expenses?
Stripe emails a receipt automatically, and it accepts a company name and tax ID at checkout. For a formal invoice, email us your order reference and billing details.
Licensing
Can I share my copy with a colleague?
No. An individual purchase licenses one person. Each downloaded PDF carries the buyer's licence line on every page. The team tier covers five people, and we will quote for more.
Can I use the prompts and scripts in commercial work?
Yes, without attribution, including in client work and in your employer's codebase. What you cannot do is redistribute the book itself.
Can I quote from it?
Short quotes with attribution and a link are fine and welcome. Reproducing whole sections is not.
Refunds
What is the refund policy?
Sixty days, no questions asked, full refund to the original payment method. No form, no reason required, and you keep the file. Full details on the refunds page.
Why sixty days rather than thirty?
Because a book you have not read yet is easy to postpone, and a deadline that expires before you get to chapter four is a policy designed to be missed. Sixty days costs us very little and removes the reason to hesitate.
